The national park of Huascaran is located in the Cordillera Blanca, Sierra Central of Peru in the Andean Department of Ancash.
Studies of the national park of Huascaran have identified 104 families, 340 genera and 799 plant species.
Ten mammal species have been recorded, including spectacled bear, puma, mountain cat, white-tailed deer and the vicuna are important species, but all of them have been heavily hunted during the last years.
